Well, you’d better check the changelog over here, if you’re interested. :) Floop.PL apparently decided to fix/update a few things before the SD2 database structure change. Wonderful. Share and Enjoy:...
Ever dreamed of playing World of Warcraft, but can't afford it? Worry no more! Here at GamerzWoW you can play World of Warcraft for free on our private server. It's completely free and takes only a few minutes to set up (assuming you already have WoW & TBC installed, if not, you will have to download those).
Well, with Karsh getting Warhammer Online, vagoth having personal things to fix, and Zephy having exams, we'll need more GMs.
These are the requirements I set last time, and they're still here:
Must have leveled over level 70.
Must have been member for more than 6 weeks.
Must be active daily on the IRC.
Must know proper English and be able to speak it.
Must have a post count over 50 on these forums.
Must be active on the forums.
Must be friendly and gentle towards players.
This time, I'm serious. IRC activity IS a requirement. We use the IRC as the main communication area except for the forums, as it's a great place to have conferences.
We need around 2 GMs this time.
Application format:
Code:
-- Information -- Forum Username: <Your username on this forum.> IRC Username: <Your username on the IRC.> WoW Username: <Your account name on GzWoW.> Character Name: <Name of your main character.> -- Contact -- Email Address: <Your main email address that we can contact you on.> MSN Address: <Optional, for contact purposes.> Xfire Username: <Optional, for contact purposes.> -- Personal -- Real Name: <Your real name.> Previous Experiences: <Previous experiences with WoW servers, if any.> Your Education: <Any education you've had.> Why You: <Why we should choose you.>
When you've filled it in, PM it to me. Try to be serious about this.
Well, pretty much all services being run by GamerzWoW went down today, including WoW servers, Ventrilo server, psyBNC, Trac, SVN, web server, MySQL server, and more.
The cause of this was an uplink disconnection of the entire data center where the server is currently hosted at. The reason for the disconnection is currently unknown, however, the network seems to be fairly stable again.
Update: Today, we once again had network issues. This time, it was only the MySQL server that screwed up, though. I'll contact my host again to talk the these issues over with them. Sorry, again.
We haven't done anything like this in the past, as we've mostly been using MaNGOS and ScriptDev2 directly from the SVN. However, I've recently started to code a bit on the server's source here and there, and I feel it's time we get some developers dedicated to this server, so we can not only keep this server up to date, but also provide patches for MaNGOS and related projects.
Currently, I myself, am working to make the server accept 3.0.2 clients. Yes, you heard right. Though, this doesn't necessarily mean you'll be able to use any of the WotLK features. The server won't be upgraded for WotLK before retail is.
Now, on to the point. What I need is competent C++ and SQL developers. For the most part, the C++ coding will be about fixing spells, talents, skills, and so on, while the SQL part will be about fixing creatures, gameobjects, items, quests, and the alikes. Of course, decent knowledge of the World of Warcraft is a requirement as well. Without that, you won't be able to actually fix things.
If you think you're competent enough, and have enough knowledge about the MaNGOS C++/SQL structure, feel free to drop me a PM, and we'll most likely be able to sort something out. Please note, we do NOT pay money for your services. We simply can't afford that. Instead, we will pay you back with full credits where due, and a "Developer" title on the forums.
Note: If we get any developers in, I'm going to start an SVN as well as a Trac.
